This year's Walk for Life West Coast: 25,000+ marched
Kudos to every one of the 25,000+ pro-lifers up in San Francisco who took part in yesterday's fourth annual Walk for Life West Coast.
The San Francisco Chronicle covered (click on this post's title) the event and did actually manage to quote two of the Walk's speakers.
The Chronicle editors buried the story on Page B1. And of the 17 photos the paper posted online, eight were of the pro-aborts and only eight were of the event itself. (Oddly, one photo was of a policeman at the event.)
They used the "both sides" approach to what was a pro-life event -- giving equal coverage to the "300" (most likely fewer than that) abortion enthusiasts.
They said "At least 10,000 abortion opponents were bused into the city," as if nobody from San Francisco attended. Recall that at the first Walk, the pro-aborts claimed the pro-lifers must all be outsiders.
If you attended the Walk, could you please spare a moment to say here what it was like? Thanks in advance!

It was fantastic. Q. At least 25,000 people, all peaceful, full of love. We were walking under the Saints Peter and Paul Church banner, and when we moved up a few steps we were with a group singing Mexican hymns, and when we slowed down a little, we were with a group reciting the rosary. Very cool!
The speakers were great-Jesse Romero was on fire, Mrs. Alveda King led us in singing "This Little Light of Mine" Rev. Childress fired us up, and Giana Jesson was very moving.
As usual the SFPD was great. I think they really like to work a demonstration where the people treat them with respect and common courtesy. A nice old lady kept asking the cops if they were warm enough. (It was a little cold.) Just a few counter protesters this year, but I have no doubt that if the police were not there in force the "liberal" counter-demonstarters would have attacked us.
As for the "bussed in" comment, I'm a born and raised San Franciscan, and both of the co-founders live here (one is a fifth generation native). But people from all over the west come--after all, it is the "Walk for Life WEST COAST." Nobody "buses them in"--they make the pilgrimage on their own. Sorry for the long post, but I'm walking on air after this wonderful weekend.
God Bless you for all you do!

We had a March for Life in Boise, in which the media seemed largely uninterested. I'm not good at estimating numbers of people, but while I understand that turn-out was less than it previous years, it was still way more than the anti-death-penalty or anti-war crowd can ever muster. Brandi Swindell of Generation Life was the keynote speaker.
By the way, it was announced that the Planned Parenthood clinic in Nampa (about a 20-30 minute drive west of Boise) closed last month. The date was not given at the March, but I am told it was -- December 8th.
Dear Gibbons,
Thank you very much for your great and encouraging first-person report on the Walk for Life.
I said to myself, "I hope Gibbons will write in," and you have!
Glad you're walking on air -- and you're helping the rest of us do the same. God bless!
Dear Anita,
Thanks for your inspiring report on the March for Life in Boise!
And thanks, too, for the blessed, Heaven-sent news that that Nampa abortion chamber closed on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Let's pray the Magnificat in thanksgiving.
