Anti-gay person of the year

Presiding over what some describe as the “strongest bully pulpit in the world,” Pope Benedict XVI, just eight months into his tenure, has unilaterally targeted gay men and lesbians as moral threats to society.

From banning gay priests to publicly lobbying against same-sex marriage rights in Spain and Italy, Pope Benedict XVI appears to be taking a swift approach to excluding gay people from equal rights across the globe.

“His rhetoric is obscene. He wants gays clearly taken care of — it’s almost like the Final Solution,” said Kara Speltz, a Catholic lesbian activist for Soulforce, an organization dedicated to ending anti-gay discrimination within all religions.
Is there any chance that McCarrick of DC and Mahony of LA will be issuing statements condemning THE WASHINGTON BLADE'S anti-Catholic bigotry?

Don't hold your breath.

I read the same article.

The article seems to have the feel of a practicing homosexual knowing that they are losing the culture wars. Hopefully these proponents of the Culture of Death will discover God and convert.

I don't think "bigotry" is the right word, though it's commonly used. If you hate the Church because of something REAL, then you're not a bigot. The people who crucified Christ weren't bigots and we needn't have asked them to show the same care for His human rights as they did for everyone else's.

We should expect to be hated for what we are. If I were a gay activist, I would hate the Church; wouldn't you?

To have peace between the people of godthere has to some kind of reconcilation. This past Christmas I sat behind two Lesbians attending Mass. Of course they join the communion line to receive Our Lord. It was scandalous, we need to know that one can contribute to another spiritual ruin and we are responsible. Even if someone believes their conscious is clear we have to look at our actions to the message we give off.
