St. Charles Lwanga and Companions, pray for us!

Today, June 3, is the Feast Day of St. Charles Lwanga and Companions, whom the pagan homosexual predator King Mwanga in Uganda martyred by fire, spear and knife in 1886.

According to "Catholic Online > Saints and Angels" (click on this post's title), these chaste young men, ages 13-25, went joyously to their deaths rather than betray Jesus. St. Charles had protected the pages of the court from the king.

Today there are those who would call St. Charles and his companions "intolerant," "narrow," "rigid," "self-righteous," "fundamentalist," "the religious right" and, natch, "homophobic."

Every Archdiocese and Diocese in the USA should have a St. Charles Lwanga Parish. Our Archdiocese of Los Angeles has none, but it does have several cases of two parishes with the same saint's name. Wonder if any of them would take St. Charles's name and patronage? If not, the next new parish in the Archdiocese could and should receive his name.

St. Charles Lwanga and Companions, pray for us sinners and for our children, our grandchildren, our Archdiocese and our whole Church! Amen.

These martyrs died upholding the Truths of the faith in matters of sexual morality. They are in truth an example for us.

We need to be such Catholics now in this world and the price will steepen as time goes on.

Ave Maria!
