Archbishop Wuerl and Pro-Abortion Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi, the pro-abortion extremist from California who is slated to be Speaker of the House, plans to attend Mass on January 3 at Trinity College in Washington, D.C.
She is obviously doing this to advance her agenda, and that of all pro-abortion Catholic politicians, that you can be Catholic and receive Communion even if you enable and fund the dismembering-alive of tens of millions of God's precious babies.
Click on this post's title to see the press release of the American Life League about this looming scandal. If the U.S. bishops, specifically Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington, let Mrs. Pelosi get away with this, they will be telling U.S. Catholics it is fine to vote pro-abortion in 2008.
They will also be demeaning the Eucharist, of course.
I asked once before whether Archbishop Wuerl and Cardinal Mahony were opposite-coast bookends; I should have specified at that time that I meant that largely about their treatment of pro-abortion Catholic politicians. Okay, if Archbishop Wuerl lets Mrs. Pelosi receive Communion on January 3, how will he not be an East Coast Roger Mahony in his treatment of pro-aborts?

Dont' hold your breath about anyone telling Nancy how catholics live. In the Christmas issue of the Central California Catholic, the want to be "news" paper of the diocese of Fresno there is an article by a Fr. James Rude, SJ (of course). Fr. Rude tells how he telephoned Nancy the day after the national elections to congradulate here. Father goes on to say how he talked about ending all the bickering between the left and the right. Of course Fr. Rude goes on to talk about the minimum wage, immigaration, helping the poor etc. ad nauseum. Lacking of course is whether the good Father counseled Nancy regarding her constant voting in favor of sucking life out the wombs of mothers, life that at the moment of conception is infused with an imortal soul.Fr. Rude, like all the other Nancy lovers will try to guilt catholics regarding the death penalty, even though as Cardinal Ratzinger, the Holy Father in a letter to the "american" bishops said there can be disagreement on the death penalty and going to war, but there could be no disagreement rearding abortion.
In the diocese of Fresno there are numerous elected "catholic" officials and to anyones knowledge the current bishop has never said anything publicly regarding their pro-death voting records. Nothing will be said about these catholics who are in position to cast their votes for life , but do not. With Nancy and others of her ilk, the bishops do not want to even talk about all the souls lost to abortion but they will try to guilt you if you are for controling the borders or if you are in favor of the death penalty. Nancy will attend Mass on Jan 3, and for the cameras will probably jump the communion line to take communion from the Cardinal no less. And the faithful will be further scandalized by their bishops.

It is really tragically typical of the left-wing Catholics to be friends with the extremist pro-abortion politicians who keep the tax dollars flowing to pay the abortionst profiteers their fees for exploiting Catholic moms and killing Catholic babies.

I've just visited Father Rude's article, and as you report, he does not say he admonished her about her support for aborting God's precious babies.
That has got to be a sine qua non for any of us in dealing with a pro-abortion Catholic politician: We must tell them that they have got to stop backing abortion and to start fighting it.
Father Rude later in his article mentions "the consistent ethic of life," but does not specifically mention aborting babies.
The death toll of aborted babies is nearing 50 million. Time for all of us to start mentioning them.
Holy Trinity is a barely "Catholic" Church. Read "Catholics in Crisis" for more on this most liberal of Churches. The former pastor left the priesthood to shack up with his boyfriend in California and hand out condoms to other sexually active homosexuals. And another former pastor once had a "Circus" Mass. I am not making this up. There was a high wire performer over the altar where the Holy Sacrifice takes place. Shameful on them, and shame on Nancy Pelosi.

What a disgrace.
They commit these monstrous things and reward themselves for it, and then they ban the Mass of the Ages, the Tridentine Mass, and persecute those who yearn for it.
Boy, I sure can tell you all live in the Central Valley. What a bunch of hicks!
