This, too, is L.A.
Here is a piece from THE TIDINGS about nuns who care for the dying.
I believe it was St. Augustine who said:
"If you pray well, you will live well. If you live well, you will die well. If you die well, all is well."

Thanks for posting this. There is a lot to think about here ... besides the beautiful picture.
I find that quotation troubling.
Many pray well, but suffer throughout life.
Many live well, but die horrifically.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "living well" and "dying well."
Thanks be to God for nuns who live their charism and even embrace that sign of consecraton to God which is the holy habit. Thanks be to God there is not just a lot of 'peace and justice' mumbo-jumbo but true charity that is the love of God spilled over to the love and care of souls.
The little sisters of the poor do this work well.
Ian - I think you need to think about what it means to pray, live, and die "well." Living "well" does not necessitate comfort and pleasure. To the extent he stayed faithful to God, I think St. Augustine would say that Job lived "well."
