I was at first a little afraid of this pope when I recieved an email that contained a photo of him next to one of the Emperor from Star Wars... it was creapy.
However he appears to be a solid rock the church needs, and I'm pleased with his announcement that WYD is in Sydney in 2008!

Whatever happened to the message of redemption that is the Gospel? If Christ's blood has redeemed us, why must we mortify ourselves for any man? Now, carrying a cross as part of the faith is one thing. But Benedict didn't say that; he was talking about mortifying oneself for the Pope.
Sorry, Quintero, but this is on the uncomprehensible level of clown Masses for me.
