New Year's Resolutions for a Cardinal (#2)

(Presented one per day.)

TWO: STOP WRECKOVATING OUR CHURCHES Stop breaking the hearts of the faithful, and wasting millions of dollars, by wreckovating perfectly good Catholic churches.

Restore (de-wreckovate) the churches you have already mutilated; inevitably, future bishops, pastors and parishioners will do so if you do not.

Swear off the heterodox and transitory, ephemeral latest fads in church design. Dump the highly paid professional wreckovation-consultant profiteers.

Stop hiding the Blessed Sacrament in side chapels or behind ugly barriers. Restore our tabernacles to places of prominence so we can readily adore our Creator and Savior. Instill in your flock love and reverence for the Real Presence by teaching them to genuflect, to not speak in church and to dress respectfully for Mass.

Encourage your pastors and foster vocations by establishing frequent Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction and public Eucharistic processions in every parish.
