New Year's Resolutions for a Cardinal

(Presented one per day. Collect the whole set! Be the first on your block -- er, blog.)

ONE: THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS Stop violating the Church’s liturgical norms, and order all your priests to follow your example. Tell your clergy: No more altering the text of Holy Mass. No more editorial comments in mid-Mass. No more using the prohibited flagons (Kool-Aid pitchers!) to hold the Precious Blood. No more dancing girls. No more inviting lay "altar egos" to stand behind the altar.

And because having girl altar boys is merely permitted, not required, foster vocations to the priesthood by having only boy altar boys (wow, what a concept!) serve Mass.

Foster true diversity in the language of the liturgy. We have Masses in 35 tongues, yet one language is mostly prohibited: Latin. Urge every parish to schedule both the Tridentine Latin Mass and the Novus Ordo Latin Mass weekly and daily. Teach Latin to your seminarians and as required updating for your clergy.
