LMU pro-abortion speaker, May 6

There is a report that this year's commencement speaker at Loyola Marymount University at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, will be Antonio Villaraigosa, L.A.'s pro-abortion mayor.

That would seem to violate the instruction that the U.S. bishops gave in 2004, in their document "Catholics in Political Life": "The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.”

"Liberal" Catholics in the universities and chanceries will NEVER end their disgusting, twisted, disgraceful love affair with pro-abortion Catholic politicians.

Speaking of Mahony, I didn't know where to post this so if it needs to be moved I will understand.. I got an email from a dear friend of mine in your locality and I thought you might like to hear what she said. Sorry that I cannot mention this person's name.

She writes:

I was going to share a sad story I just heard on Tuesday.

I had lunch with a priest who retired from the Navy and stayed here instead of returning to Miami so that he could receive medical care here. He heard about a parish north of us that didn't have a priest anymore, so Cardinal
Mahoney sent a nun to "take care of things" there. When Father mentioned
that he was available the Cardinal whispered to him that the Cardinal wanted Sister to learn how to "do things".

Another time Father was invited to a dinner where all of these priest and
nuns were invited to attend, where the Bishop gave a talk with veiled
warnings that women priests were coming in the near future.

Sad, so sad.

Christ's peace,

Dear Semper Fi Catholic,

Thank you for the "heads-up!"

I might know the pastor-less parish that the Father mentioned.

The Bishop must be deluded about priestesses, unless he was talking about lay "pastoral associates."

Ironically, they offer a degree in bioethics.

Dear Andy,

Yes, and bioethicists are usually pro-death and very dangerous to anyone they decide to get.

There's an all too realistic joke about someone warning a hospital patient, "Run for your life! Here comes the bioethics committee!"
