L.A. Archdiocese, 2003: "No one will object" to kneeling
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles allows people to kneel after the Agnus Dei. Bishop Tod Brown of Orange ought to consult with Cardinal Mahony about this, or vice versa.
In the Los Angeles Times of Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, a Larry Stammer story, "Catholics Will See Changes in Observance of Mass," quotes Sandra Dooley, director of the Office of Worship of the Archdiocese of L.A.: "if people...feel the need to pray as they always have [i.e., kneeling and making thanksgiving right after returning to their pews], no one will object. The only mandatory action among all the changes is bowing the head before receiving the Sacraments."

Thanks for the info Quintero. I wouldn't have thought of LA as more tolerant towards devout Catholics than Orange... but that was before his excellency bishop Brown manifested his preferences.
What the L.A. archdiocese may have said back in 2003 is already lost down the memory hole.
"The Archdiocese is in favor of standing. It has always been in favor of standing."
