Yes, the Archdiocese did smash St. Brigid's 19th-century stained glass windows

Here (click on this post's title) is a lot of information on the Archdiocese of New York's vandalism this past summer against historic St. Brigid Church on the Lower East Side.

The liberals talk about love, but do they practice it? What on earth could explain the refusal to save the seven historic stained-glass windows, each 25 feet high?

Here is a link to a statement by the Archdiocese of New York:

Each window was estimated to be worth about $100,000? And they just smashed them? Why not at least auction them off? How horrible.

Good Lord! What on earth is their motive in this. I just don't understand the "why" of this type of situation.

Dear Jehu,

Many liberals really dislike traditional Catholic churches, just as they really dislike the Church's traditional Latin Mass.

They also really dislike us normal, traditional Catholics.

Who knows for sure about this particular case of St. Brigid's, but the similar actions of many bishops and pastors around the USA in recent decades suggest that they are trying to wipe out the normal Church and are as cruel as possible to us in the process.

But naturally none of this is cause for us to doubt or despair. All we have to do is remember that back in the time of the Arian heresy, most of the bishops took the heretical position, yet we came through it all right because Jesus was faithful to His promise to be with His Church always.

We will pull through this if we pray and stick together! Thanks for writing!

I suppose that they were not auctioned to keep them out of wrong hands who would probably profane or defile them.

Better they could have been used like the olde windows now in the MAusoleum at the Cathedral.

I gotta say the more i go there the more I'm beginning to like it.

I took my family there on All Saints Day and found over $500 cash in the chapel. That's my interesting Cathedral story for the month (so far).
