California liberals now plan to tax...children!
The liberals who run our state government are plotting to cut the annual $300 state tax credit per child (and other dependents) by $210, the Family Research Council reported last Friday.
Obviously, cutting $210 from a $300 tax credit per child is a huge tax increase on families.
Economists have a rule: If you want more of something, subsidize it; and if you want less of something, tax it.
Anybody who would tax little kids wants fewer of them.
Cardinal Mahony and the rest of our California bishops need to denounce this anti-child, anti-family, mammoth tax increase publicly and loudly, don't you think?

The Left used to count on stealth for implementing their "programs." My, how things change!
Maybe this tax is to punish traditional families because most marriage and family rules are based on Juedeo-Christian ethics.
How much would you bet that if "non-traditional" families made a stink on this tax, the bill would suddenly "disappear" from the docket?

Wow, that is a great idea. Now if only the feds would impose a hefty tax on all the selfish fools who feel the need to procreate recklessly.

The selfish ones are the many people who refuse to have children.
They are foolish, too, because in their old age they won't have any children around to take care of them and support them -- or to defend them the anti-lifers who will euthanize them.
Government exists to protect our lives and our God-given rights and liberties, not to tyrannize over us or commit social engineering.
