'Theology of the Collar'
Clayton over at THE WEIGHT OF GLORY has a very thoughtful post about the priesthood. He links to a theological reflection paper that he wrote 10 years ago at the end of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) component required of every seminarian. Seminarians usually find CPE insufferable for reasons that Clayton explains in his post. He relates, however, that the 3 months he spent in the program were eminently positive and also how he ended up teaching a Unitarian woman who had studied under Rosemary Reuther how to pray the rosary! What an apostle!
Clayton stayed in the seminary just 2 years. He now lives in L.A. and is obviously as apostolic as ever. But I can't help but think, damn he'd make a great priest!
