Life is a beach

Father Alexander Lewis celebrates Mass at the Catholic Youth Summer Splash at Zuma Beach in Malibu July 17.

As you can see, Father Lewis is really cool.

I wonder if Father Lewis ever loses his cool.

Seriously man, are there any Catholics in L.A. (besides yourself)?
A touchdown with the Lectionary, very nice--NOT!
Caption for photo 1: "This is my version of Built of Living Stones. It's called Built on Shifting Sands."
Caption for photo 2: "He says here we need a paten. Heck, we don't even have an altar!"
BTW, I'll pray today for the priests and faithful of LA.
With the way things are going in L.A. and with the impending record breaking payouts for clergy sexual abuse, we may lose many of our church buildings and find ourselves literally "homeless."
I say, make the most out of Mass in a church building (such as it may be) while you can. Someday you might find yourself going to “beach Masses,” not for novelty’s sake, but out of necessity.
The Episcopalians do it better. See the August 29, 2004, "beach Mass" by St. Cross by-tht-Sea Episcopal Church at Hermosa Beach, California (http://www.stcross.org/photos/photos.php?ID=4)
