Being no architect expert, I wouldn't want the cathedral altered in any way whatsoever.
Interesting that they say that they wish to move it into better line with Vatican II. What they are in-fact doing is the opposite. (i.e. The "spirit" of Vatican II)
It really is unfortunate.
