"The cost for the Church could be huge. So many victims are suing the cost of an overall settlement could end up being higher than ONE BILLION DOLLARS. That's ONE BILLION with a "B." And most of that money would come directly from the Church; there is no insurance to cover it.""B" also stands for the BIGGEST clergy sexual abuse payout in the nation, which will make the Archdiocese of Mahony both the BIGGEST and the BADDEST of them all!

What does it take to get their attention?
Letters to the Diocese -- nothing will ever become of that.
Meetings with your local parish priest -- nothing will ever become of that.
Co-miserating with likeminded individuals -- nothing will ever become of that
Keeping money from the coffers for the likes of Presider Mahoney -- now THAT will get their attention.
'B' is also for 'Bubble Wand!'
You know, it does remind of the street hawkers in Rome who'd stand around all day trying to sell this cheap little bubble guns to stupid English-speaking tourists..
A billion here and a billion there, maybe after a billion or so more people will realize that that's a billion dollars people gave the diocese for some other use..
Isn't this the same diocese that has the huge heart for the poor and speaks about that at expensive dinners?
Well, now this same diocese can join the poor!
One billion? Havent' we had enough yet? There has to be a major reform. We literally can't afford to go on as before.
The Cardinal will tell congregations that without dramatically increased giving, things like the diocese's charitable causes, outreach programs, and school system will have to be cut back drastically. Basically, a good old extortion racket. Could even see him saying that with the money crunch plus the priest shortage, local churches that can't come up with the dough will be candidates for closure, the churches themselves sold off to raise funds.
