We can get through this
We have all known that the election results would not bode well for abortion-targeted babies, first of all, or for pro-life, pro-family Catholics. There is suffering involved in hearing the bad news.
But let's seek grace, strength and purpose from the Good Lord and, as the poet says, "Keep a-goin'." We all know veteran pro-lifers, after all, who have gotten through the Jimmy Carter years and the Slick Willie years, so we can stand this election and keep slugging away.
The pro-aborts and the anti-Catholics, and they're often the same people, will be out for blood. But here is some encouragement for us from our first Pontiff.
Here is I Peter 4:12-14:
12 Beloved, do not be surprised that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as if something strange were happening to you.
13 But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly.
14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
Here is I Peter 5:6-11:
6 So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
7 Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.
8 Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for (someone) to devour.
9 Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings.
10 The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ (Jesus) will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.
11 To him be dominion forever. Amen.
And here is some encouragement from a beloved poet:

WHAT TO MAKE OF THE ELECTION RESULTS!
Many will say that we Traditional Conservatives must modify our positions in order to win; nothing could be further from the truth!
We must sincerely question whether or not those who would now advocate this were ever really conservative in the first place!
I can’t recall who said this, but it should be our resolve to uphold it. It is “right is right even if nobody is right, and wrong is wrong even if everybody is wrong!”
Our Lord did not teach that we were to change our positions if the plurality was against us; no he said “blessed are you who are persecuted and reviled for my sake, for yours shall be the Kingdom of Heaven”
But we do need to get rid of the idea that the plurality is really on our side, and we must become determined to convert that plurality. Politics is not the answer, it never was, and conversion is the only answer! I should know because I am a politician, President of the Anaheim Republican Assembly and former Republican Nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives.
I have said this before, and I will repeat it again: “an amoral people do not pass moral legislation or vote for moral candidates, and when you look around and witness how our people, especially our women, and especially our Catholic women, are dressing in public EVEN AT THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS, this becomes very evident!
In my mind, there is no doubt that this would not have happened had our Shepherds been true Shepherds more interested in the salvation of souls than in their popularity. How can they be expected to believe Shepherds who say they are pro-life while at the same time, by posing with them for photo ops, they are helping pro-abortion “Catholic” politicians get elected and re-elected?
This also probably would not have happened if the Knights of Columbus had not been subverted to the point that, when they finally passed a Resolution in 2003 at their Supreme Council meeting in Washington, D.C. that would have brought about the expulsion of pro-abortion, pro-sodomite members who are public figures, the State and Supreme Offices took action warning any Council that sought to carry out that very Resolution!
Our Nation will probably be punished by Almighty God for its willingness to in effect slap Him in the face by electing amoral politicians who have, and are passing amoral legislation!
Soon we will post on our Website information on how you can obtain posters that promote proper dress in Church, and you already have on our Website an effort to wake up the faithful to the betrayal of Our Lord and His Mother by many in the Knights of Columbus leadership’s refusal to take action against errant pro-abortion, pro-sodomite Knights!

Thank you for pointing out the need for all of us to get busy and pray and get to work converting ourselves and our neighbors for the good of their souls and ours, and for the good of society, especially society's most defenseless members, the babies.
