Our Lady of Guadalupe Procession and Mass, Sunday, December 6, in East L.A. ... and ...
The annual procession and Mass for Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe will take place this Sunday, December 6, en el Este de L.A. Click on this post's title for all the details.
People will gather at 12 noon at the corner of Ford Boulevard and Cesar Chavez Avenue and process to East Los Angeles College Stadium on Cesar Chavez Avenue in Monterey Park for Mass at 1:30 p.m. Pilgrim images of La Virgencita and of San Juan Diego will be present.
Cardinal Mahony will preside at Mass and Bishop Zavala will give the homily.
Also, I'm told that an annual Rosary and procession for Our Lady of Guadalupe will take place up in Santa Barbara this Sunday, December 6. People will gather at 5 p.m. at De La Guerra Plaza downtown for a Rosary. Then, at 5:45 p.m., they will process about eight blocks up State Street to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, where there will be Vespers and a reenactment of the Nican Mopohua, the ca. 1560 account of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego.
Please check with your local parish to find out about other Guadalupana celebrations on Sunday and about the Mananitas celebrations on December 12.
