you know what I found funny about this picture? Why are the altar serves (ignoring the fact that they're all female) BEHIND the cardinal? Altar servers are supposed to lead the procession not walk behind the presider. If Mahony is elading the procession, who is at the end of the line?
Dear Seeker-
The two girls behind the cardinal are his miter and crosier bearers (note the 'humeral veil' type shawls they are wearing). In a normal procession, they would find their place behind the celebrant priest, in this case, RMM. As to the other white-robed female, I do not know.
Yes, I figured the first two as crozier and miter, but then the third one made me think that there must be more behind him, ergo my previous comment.
