REC -- as in "wreck"
The time has come: The Archdiocese's annual Religious Education Congress (REC) runs March 30-April 2, this Thursday through Sunday, at the Anaheim Convention Center. I really hope you will join our prayerful brothers and sisters in picketing there this Saturday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to around 6 p.m., at the two main entrances.
Sure, the REC will have many good speakers -- but just as sure, there will be many bad ones, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual subverters of Catholic doctrine, morality, the priesthood and the papacy; and they will deceive the elect with vile heresy couched in seemingly innocent-sounding language.
Please come and join the prayerful picket in order to alert attendees to not swallow any heresy themselves and to not inadvertently take any heresies home and repeat them to their students, families, friends and fellow parishioners.
You might save someone's soul, or even many souls! Anyway, you will be witnessing for Catholic truth, you will be doing good Lenten penance, and you will be meeting fun, sharp, committed Catholic activists who have a lot in common with you.
Cardinal Mahony once termed the picketers "simple people, without influence." Now is your chance to show him how much influence "simple" Catholics can have.
For more information, e-mail organizer Ken Fisher at crcoa@dslextreme.com or call him at 714-491-2284. Bring your rosary, and bring a friend or two with you!

My wife and I will be there.
Wish I could, live to far though :-/
too* that is
I was at the Cardinal's Mass on Sunday some years ago and he poked fun at a group of people who came up to him at the Vatican. They wanted to complain to a Vatican offical about the Cardinal in LA. He made them out to be baffoons because they did not reconize who they where speaker to.
I e-mailed the Cardinal to complain and his reply was contrite. He also told me he was going to think over what I said.
anonymous,
I'm amazed at his response. Did you identify yourself as a lawyer?
I can't be there on Saturday, but will be praying for you during my adoration hour at Our Lady Help of Christians in Garden Grove, from 5 to 6 a.m.
Dear Barbara,
That is just great of you to pray for the picket during your hour of Adoration, 5 a.m.-6 a.m.
I'm sure your prayers will make a difference! Thank you very much.
Dear Jared,
It's super to hear that you and your wife will be there. Thank you in advance! Let's pray that attendees will be receptive to the handouts and will recognize and reject false teachings.
Dear Anonymous 8:13 a.m.,
Well, you'll be there in spirit and in prayer, and that's a definite help, so thank you very much!
Dear Anonymous 9:35 a.m.,
That is a great story, and I am LOL about it. Thanks for telling us all!
