'Making the Church scary for children'
'Making the Church safe for children'
This has been the mantra of Church bureaucrats like Cardinal Mahony ever since the clergy sexual abuse scandal broke like a tidal wave in 2002.
But in view of some of the "artistic" appointments in Mahony's cathedral which was dedicated in that same year, I wonder if the mantra should rather be:
'Making the Church scary for children.'
Go and see "Roger's Angels" at Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral and you will understand what I mean. This exhibit is NOT recommended for children. It just might scare the HELL out of you!

These are so gross. And all of this, and so many of the pictures you make available all show the MOCKERY of Our Blessed Lord and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
It makes me so sad. And those in the position of authority are above all laws, it appears. But they are in error if they think God does not see.
They mock Our Lord, Our Savior, Our Redeemer by their behavior and blatant disregard for the directives from Rome.
Oh Lord, see Your sheep without a true shepherd and have pity on them...
Indeed, the angels are spooky... like Nazgol in the Lord of the Rings...
